Emma Kate and Jared’s summer home wedding was held in Philadelphia, Mississippi. The ceremony was at Emma Kate’s beautiful church, Holy Cross Catholic Church. It’s the prettiest little Catholic church. The reception was held at Emma Kate’s parents home in their backyard. The home she grew up in.
Emma Kate always dreamed of having her reception in the backyard under the stars. She envisioned an open air reception with bistro lights. Unfortunately, there was a lot of rain forecasted for the week of the wedding. We always have to have a back up plan when an event is held outdoors and this one was no exception. We had tents on backup just in case of rain and ultimately had to make the hard decision the week of the wedding to go with tents.
I knew Emma Kate did not want tents so we held out as late as we could on the decision to add them or not. MS Tent was wonderful to work with and let us decide the Wednesday before the wedding. We had to make a decision by then so the safest way to go was to have the tents. When tents are added the week of the wedding that also means lighting has to be changed. Gulf South Productions was so great to work with as well and were happy to make the changes we needed last minute.
In the end the tents turned out beautiful and we were prepared for rain. It ended up not really raining the day of the wedding (of course!), but if we hadn’t have had the tents you can bet it would have! 🙂 Since the rain held off we were able to place seating and other things outside of the tents as well as utilize the tents.
The family was very pleased with everything and that’s all that matters in the end. I loved working with this great family! Emma Kates parents were both so great to work with. We also handled the flowers for the rehearsal dinner and got to work with the mother of the groom on that. Both the bride and groom come from great families! I say it all the time, but I am so fortunate to get to work with the BEST couples and families!
