The MSU Riley Center has many different options for weddings and events. The Grand Theatre is a great option for a truly unique wedding ceremony. While it can seat up to 400, it can definitely accommodate smaller guest counts without looking too grand. Rehearsal dinners on stage in the Grand Theatre is one of my favorite spots for rehearsal dinners. They can accommodate up to 100 guests (maybe a few more) on the stage for a seated dinner, making it a popular choice among couples.

The Exhibit Hall at The Riley Center is a great space for a wedding reception with 5,200 square feet of space. It will accommodate up to 400 guests and another option is to add on the Studio Theatre room that is connected to the Exhibit Hall. The Studio Theatre gives you another 2,500 square feet of space for your reception or event.
Most of our couples rent both the Exhibit Hall and the Studio Theatre for receptions if they have a larger guest count, giving us plenty of space for everything. When we have both rooms the options are endless in regards to set up. Sometimes we put the band or DJ in the studio theatre and make that room the “fun room” where all of the guests end up at as the reception goes on. When we put the band in the Studio Theatre we love to have cocktail tables around the dance floor, lounge furniture and a bar in this room.
Other times we have put the food in the Studio Theatre along with some guest seating tables. We have done it countless ways and with that being said you have so many different options when it comes to your wedding design and layout at The Riley Center.
For smaller weddings we have some couples that just use the Exhibit Hall for everything…the band, dance floor, food stations, bar, cakes, guest seating, etc. We’ve even had a couple of clients have their ceremony in the Studio Theatre and their reception in the Exhibit Hall.
One more space we use a lot is the Grand Lobby. We have used this space for rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours.
