What Type of Insurance do you Need as a Wedding Planner

Insurance for Wedding Planners

Insurance is never a fun topic to discuss, but as a wedding planner you need to make sure you are covered.

All legit businesses have insurance to protect them in case something happens. As a planner you need a general liability policy for sure.

It protects you if a client claims that the services you provided (or failed to provide) were negligent and caused harm.

According to Trusted Source Insurance: “Simply put: Professional liability insurance broker covers mistakes, and everybody makes them. Clients can sue you because they are dissatisfied with your professional services whether or not the claim has merit. Some examples where professional liability insurance could come into play include reserving a venue for the wrong date, failing to correct mistakes on invitations or failing to secure vendors as promised.”

There are many companies online that provide liability policies for planners and some of the most popular are Hiscox and Wedsafe.

I personally use a local insurance company in my area. I personally pay around $65 a month for a general liability policy.

There are other policies you may need, but every planner for sure needs to secure a general liability policy.
