I’ve shared about this amazing platform before, but it’s such an important part of my daily life and business. So, it’s worth sharing again and again. Trello is an amazing tool for wedding planners and anyone honestly! Using Trello as a wedding planner will help your business more than you can even imagine.
Trello is by far my all time favorite tool that I use to systemize my business and life. I honestly don’t know how I did anything before Trello came into my life.
You may be wondering what is Trello? I’m so glad you asked!
TRELLO IS A FREE ORGANIZATION SYSTEM
Trello is an all in one organization web based tool that helps you keep things organized, and get more done. While I’m not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by or in any way officially connected to Trello, Inc. (www.trello.com), It’s a priceless tool I use every day!
I do have Trello Gold in order to have calendars on my boards as well as the option to customize my board backgrounds, but I used the free version for over a year before upgrading and it was just as good. I just loved the ability to customize my board backgrounds since I am an esthetically driven person as most planners are.
HOW DOES IT WORK
Trello’s boards, lists, and cards enable you to organize and prioritize your planning business and life in an easy, flexible and completely customizable way. Did I mention it’s also a great way to visually see what needs to get done each day?! Don’t worry I’ll walk you through everything you need to know!
Before Trello it would take me so long to find something I was looking for – a vendor’s mailing address, my company logo, photos from a wedding, my EIN number – and I would find myself wasting oh so much time looking for stuff. Then Trello came into my life and OMG friends it’s the BEST thing I’ve ever used (along with Aisle Planner).
I use Trello or everything business and personal and when I say everything I mean everything. Trello allows me to organize, manage and prioritize my days and weeks, store vendor information, organize all of my business processes, templates, documents, organize my clients and so much more.
After going full time in my wedding planning business ago, I decided it was time to get the backend of my business organized the right way. I would find myself randomly working on things as I thought of them during the week. There was not any system to what I did from day to day.
I learned about an amazingly simple way of planning my days – themed days.
Themed days you may be thinking. What in the world does that mean?
What you do is pick one focus for the day – and you do that and only that on that particular day.
Themed days of the week will save you time and stress.
You will be able to get SO much more done every single week. They take the guesswork out of tasks that come my way. I schedule related tasks on the same day of the week to ensure the most productive day.
They will give you a game plan for each day of the week so you always know what you are supposed to be working on depending on what day it is.
HERE’S WHAT MY THEMED DAYS LOOK LIKE:
- MONDAY: MARKETING
- TUESDAY: CLIENT WORK + MEETINGS
- WEDNESDAY: PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- THURSDAY: CLIENT WORK + MEETINGS
- FRIDAY: ADMIN + FINANCE
