Annika and Brooks’ Philadelphia Mississippi home wedding took place on a rainy week in May. It seems like it rained at more of our weddings this year than it has in the past thirteen years. We always like to have a backup plan for outdoor weddings, but Annika and her Mother were determined they were gonna trust God and that he wasn’t gonna let it rain on the wedding day. Therefore; we didn’t have a backup plan in place.

Well, their prayers worked because it didn’t rain on the wedding day! PTL! It did rain the days before and during the rehearsal the night before, but the sun was shining bright on their special day in May.

They were married in the backyard of Annika’s parents home, the home she grew up in. They exchanged vows under a canopy of beautiful white orchids, while white roses lined the aisle. Guests entered the ceremony under a white and greenery floral filled arch.

A few years back, I had the honor of doing florals for Annika’s sister in the same backyard. So it was extra special to be back in the same backyard doing another daughters wedding.

The canopy of lights, installed by the father of the bride, was such a beautiful touch for the reception. The rehearsal dinner took place under the same lights the night before. It was a truly magical evening that ended with a firework show and the wedding party jumping in the pool.
