On wedding days wedding day set up duties for wedding planners is pretty straightforward. It’s your responsibility to set up the couple’s small, personal items. I’m not talking about setting up everything for the wedding. Every vendor will play a role in what they set up and as a planner your role is to set up the couples personals such as:
- guest book and pen
- wedding programs
- toasting glasses
- cake knife and server
- favors
- table numbers
- place cards
- place settings
- seating chart
- any signage
- etc.
The florist will set up the florals, candles and any decor items they are providing. The rental company will set up the tables, chairs, linens, and any other rentals the couple is renting.
Some planners work with more DIY couples that choose to provide their own centerpieces, linens and decor. If you are a planner that works with DIY couples you will just need to decide whether or not you want to include setting up all of their DIY decor in your package. Either way, make sure you outline this in your contract so it’s crystal clear what you will and won’t be doing.
